A Lyon's Tale
48 hours awake in Tokyo

Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls,

Sit down to hear a riveting story from your friend ol’ mr Will Lyon the rambunctious good timer from America. Let’s rewind to approximately 745 pm this evening on a train my home from a weekend in Tokyo. I am exhausted and feeling a bit sick, actually really, ok I’m going to vomit. I prematurely exit my train to go find a proper area which I can barf. I go up the escalator, it’s getting worse what if I can’t make it! I see a toilet sign, sweet salvation. As I run in it’s too late I throw up in my mouth but a well places trash can eases my predicament and i utilize it hansomely. Amazingly I actually think no one even saw. Wow a true feet in train sickness adenturedom. Now how had I gotten like this one may be curious? Well I can tell you.

Saturday I arrive in ikebukuro ready to enjoy tokyo after a long and exhausting week. I am supposed to meet with my old buddy Tatsuro around 11 for some Ramen but of course he’s late. 2 hours of waiting later I find he never woke up and so I meet up with another friend, Koujun who is nice enough to leaves class early and meet up with lost Gaijin, :P So with a belatted schedule and a stereotypically slow to action friend Tatsuro no showing\ waking up we head to a AIESEC event called global village with an assembled group of trainees like myself from locations all over the world: Bulgaria, India, Brazil, Poland, China to name a few. The global conference is long but interesting and I get to meet some girls which is always a welcome pastime in the life of will Lyon in Japan :) the conference goes until dinner and I find myself ready to go have a fun night after a long day of explaining in my internship, where I live, and calfornia the magical state of Disneyland, Hollywood and many things which Japanese so do revere.

First things first, my troop of ruffians who would like to join the weekend warrior’s duo need to meet up with the king of promptless timing, Tatsuro. When we meet up in shibuya I give him a bad time and Offer him some whiskey from my flask which we both take a hefty swig of to greese our drinking and partying gears, with the joint abilities of both east and west. We begin the night which never ended, by going to a bar where we had our own room and which advertised unlimited drinks if each customer ordered a entree. This semi truth still landed us with a 9300 yen bill for 4 people and more room in our bellys for strong drink.

Tatsuro and I left our fellow drinkers to find a night club with the finest of commodities in mind, single japanese women :)

Many hours later, after some fine times amongst the black lights we headed to a bar by Tatsuro’s apartment but of course knowing my friends tastes did not sleep one wink and then went directly into sight seeing with the cho suge members of AIESEC who were willing to put up with our zombie “day-after” demeanor. We saw Asakusa, akihabara and even a maid cafe, a Japanese Manga lovers paradise, like hooters in america but instead they dress like cartoon maids. :P it was a hotbed for some interesting types non the less and pretty cool actually.

The weekend was full, spectacular and exhausting and as I sit at my apartment now ready for sleep I can honestly say not a minute of my weekend was wasted.

Japan I love you!
