A Lyon's Tale
A post long delayed….

It has been quite some time since my last post and I am not quite certain why I have waited so long to write. I think it is a combination of having consistent contact with my family and being immersed by my internship. The internship is going well and I am quite busy. I am still spending my days from 9:30-1:00 with the Duck Kindergarten class. We have 12 or so students and just got a new one, named Angelica. I have really grown fond of the Duck class I co-teach with Stephanie and I think I have also become more adept at the actual art of teaching. I must say it is not something that comes naturally. As much as I initially thought it would be easy it is far from it, but also something much more rewarding than I previously believed. from 1-130 I help out in the Eagle class which is 8 kids a year older than my Ducks and taught by my co-worker Evan. I enjoy the change in age and even though I am there only for half an hour Evan always enjoys my company. After I finish working with the Eagles I head to the other building (we have two) and watch kids during the afternoon in two sprints, one from 145-215 and the other from 3-4. The most tiresome part of my day is my night english class from 530-630. But afterwards I am finally free to return back to my abode. Sometimes my days are long and grueling others are fast and enjoyable. Weekends are heavily salted with trips to the mega metropolis known as Tokyo and also the neighboring city of Yokohama where my good ol’ friend Tatsuro lives. The one thing I need to do more of that has fallen to the wayside is learn Japanese. I think that it has taken on an anemic pace on par with Japanese economic growth. But on a positive now I have become a heavy newsreader and am thoroughly enjoying being up to date on world affairs. Ipod touch I love you for your ability to give me a mobile reading device. I vow to get back to regular postings and also daily japanese practice. As they say if you want something done give it to a busy person and I am definitely that so as long as I am determined I know I can do anything I put my mind to. Signing off from Tatsuro’s apartment in Yokohama,
